Nit Kit Lice Treatment - The Natural Alternative to Dangerous Pesticides!
While head lice are more of a nuisance than a danger, conventional chemical treatments are dangerous! Due to the public outcry for safe and effective alternatives, Well-in-Hand Herbals has developed this effective, easy-to-use preparation with it's super-fine-toothed Medi-Comb for the safety and convenience of your family. The Nit Kit is a fast-acting, pleasant-smelling, Rosemary & Mint Scent formula so you can catch mature lice and their nits (lice eggs) and leave hair shiny and gorgeous!
What are Head Lice? Head lice are parasitic insects that live on the human head. Pediculus Humanus Capitus are tiny but can be seen by the human eye. They live among hair and draw blood from the scalp. Lice lay their eggs on hair shafts.
How could MY family have lice? Lice aren't particular. They equally enjoy hosts with squeaky clean and dirty hair. One louse can multiply into hundreds of lice within 3 weeks. They spread by direct contact. To prevent having head lice from crawling into your family's, avoid sharing head gear, car seats, linens, barrettes, curlers, sleeping bags, combs, brushes, barrettes, curlers and clothing.
Do we have lice? Watch for itching and scratching. Then check heads! Use the 5x magnifier to help see the critters, red bite marks or scratch marks can be seen on the scalp and neck. In severe cases, a child may develop swollen glands in the neck or under the arms. Checking regularly for lice will make their elimination that much easier.
How to check heads: Lice run from light, so it is hard to see them especially in blonde hair. The nits are whitish (empty nits) or brownish (live nits). They are shaped like ovals the size of sesame seeds. Use the 5x magnifier to help see their nits near the scalp all over the entire head and especially behind the ears, the top of the head and the back of the neck. Nits are firmly cemented onto hair and will not wash out by shampooing. If they flake off, you are probably looking at dandruff.
What to do if you if you find Head Lice: Use the Nit Kit and follow directions on the bottle. Repeat treatment in 5 and again in 10 days. As lice are highly contagious, checking and treating the entire family is strongly recommended. Vacuum carpets, couches, beds, pillows, chairs and car seats. Wash clothes and linens in very hot water (130°F). Additional contact with lice will cause re-infestation.
The Medi-Comb may be boiled for reuse.
